Your Open Water Certification never expires, but everyone gets a little rusty when we’re not doing something regularly! If it’s been over two years since your last logged dive, you will be required to complete a  Refresher/Scuba Skills Update Course either with us or prior to arrival. 

We offer 3 options for our refresher students based on budget and needs. All 3 options start with check in at our shop at 730AM where you will meet your instructor and fill out student paperwork to include a mandatory Scuba Student Medical Release. Please see the "Student Medical Questionnaire" link under the Scuba Instruction tab for more information. After completing the boring but necessary paperwork portion, you will proceed to a short classroom session with the Instructor before getting fitted for your dive gear and then heading on over to the pool at the Holiday Inn right across the street from our shop. The pool session lasts until between 10 and 11 depending on everyone's comfort and ability levels before a short debriefing and being released for lunch. For anyone on a tight budget or tight time crunch, this is where Option #3 concludes. Your Instructor will meet with you to sign your student records and you are done by about 1145AM (ish). Options #2 and #1 resume at about 1230PM when your Instructor will have you meet them at our boat located in the Holiday Inn Marina/Canal where you will prepare to board our afternoon departing dive boat. Option #2 includes 2 self-guided dives with all rental gear included. (*note due to our Solo Diver Policy, this option is not available to solo divers UNLESS there is another solo diver scheduled to be on that trip). Option #3 includes 2 guided dives with either your same Instructor from your morning pool session or one of our world class dive guides depending on how many students were in your class that morning. We want our guests to have a great time and will do our best to not have refresher students included with students doing open water checkout dives since they are focusing on skills evaluations.

Our most popular option is #1, our full day all inclusive course with guided dives. The cost is $225 + tax and includes all rental gear, pool and classroom session, Instructor verification in PADI or SSI of successful course completion, 2 guided dives on our afternoon departing dive boat. ($319 total retail value). 

Option #2 is our second most popular with full day course and self-guided dives in the afternoon. The cost is $180 + tax and includes all rental gear, pool and classroom session, Instructor verification in PADI or SSI of successful course completion, 2 self-guided dives on our afternoon departing dive boat. ($254 total retail value). *note: due to our Solo Diver Policy, this option is not available to solo divers UNLESS there is another solo diver scheduled to be on that trip).

Option #3 is fantastic for divers with budget concerns or time limitations, it includes the morning portion with the classroom and pool session with Instructor verification in PADI or SSI of successful course completion and all rental gear and is $120 + tax. ($154 total retail value).

We recommend you bring any personal dive gear that you own, but all scuba equipment is included with this one day Refresher Course.

For Options 1 & 2, you will be with us all day with a short lunch break between 1130 - 1230 so please plan accordingly and bring some snacks, drinks and/or lunch! There are several time and budget friendly options close by for picking up lunch within walking distance of the shop as well.
