If you’ve already completed your classroom and pool training, you can finish your certification with Open Water referral checkout dives in Key Largo, Florida. Whether you need just one final dive or all four required dives, we provide everything you need to complete your certification in warm, clear waters.

Our referral program is designed to be flexible, allowing you to complete your dives while enjoying some of the best reef diving in the Florida Keys.

What’s Included

Your Open Water checkout dives include:

• Full rental scuba gear
• Seat on our afternoon dive boat (weather permitting)
• Instructor evaluation of all required skills
• Certification processing (if applicable)
• Digital certification card (if applicable)

Checkout dives are available 7 days a week (weather permitting).

Partial Completion Options

• Dives 1 & 2 (1 day): $255 + tax
• Dives 3 & 4 (Sea Dwellers processes certification): $255 + $95 PIC fee + tax
• Dives 3 & 4 (original shop processes certification): $255 + tax

Full Completion Options

• Dives 1–4 (2 days, Sea Dwellers certification): $385 + $95 PIC fee + tax
• Dives 1–4 (2 days, original shop certification): $385 + tax

Bonus Dive Opportunity

Only need one dive? You’ll still join the second dive as a bonus fun dive at no additional cost (a $204 value).

Important Note – PIC Fee

PADI charges a $95 certification processing fee (PIC fee) to the shop issuing your certification.

• Confirm with your original dive shop if this fee has already been paid
• If paid in error, you may request a refund from your original shop
• Alternatively, your original shop can process your certification after you complete your dives in Key Largo

Skill Readiness & Optional Pool Session

Referral students are expected to arrive prepared to demonstrate all required skills.

• Instructors will evaluate—not reteach—skills during checkout dives
• Optional refresher pool session available before dives:
• Cost: $120 + tax
• Check-in: 7:30–7:45 AM
• Limited to 8 students

This is highly recommended if you want extra practice before your open water dives.

What to Bring

To ensure a smooth check-in, all students must bring:

• Completed referral paperwork from your original dive shop (within 12 months)
• Completed medical questionnaire (within 12 months)
• If required, physician-signed clearance must be on the official form
• Dive logbook with pool/confined water sessions signed
• Timing device (watch or dive computer)
• Completed boat liability waiver (must select “STUDENT”)

Notes, emails, or letters from doctors are NOT accepted—only the official signed medical release form is valid.

Important Policies

• Payment is due in full at the time of reservation
• Gratuities for instructors and crew are not included
• Failure to meet documentation or medical requirements may result in cancellation (see policy details)
